What the site is
The Rates Guy publishes California auto insurance comparison guidance and filing news. Readers can also submit a rate-check inquiry with the contact consent displayed on the form. A request does not purchase, underwrite, issue or bind insurance and does not change existing coverage. Any insurance transaction must be confirmed with the carrier or producer handling it.
Rates are estimates
Compare each published number with its source, date, coverage basis and stated assumptions. A filing request or sample price does not determine your premium. Your record, address, vehicle, coverage and carrier underwriting affect the actual offer. The Rates Guy does not guarantee a price, coverage or carrier acceptance.
Plugin estimates and comparisons
RateFoundry filing-derived calculations are non-binding estimates for the disclosed supported profile. Review the actual rated term, assumptions, defaults, partial results and unavailable programs. A monthly equivalent is not an installment plan. Comparing two premiums you supply does not establish equivalent coverage, a renewal price, eligibility or the best insurer. The plugin does not buy or bind insurance, create a lead, place a call or file an SR-22. A separate website request is made only if you choose to open and submit that flow.
Outbound links
The site links to external resources including California Department of Insurance filings, partner comparison platforms, published surveys, and public data sources. The Rates Guy does not control the content of those external sites and is not responsible for their accuracy or availability.

User conduct
Readers agree not to misuse the site (automated scraping at volume, attempts to circumvent rate limiting, attempts to inject content). Editorial corrections, tips, and city requests are welcome and never count as misuse.
Limitation of liability
The Rates Guy provides editorial information on an "as-is" basis and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the reader's use of the site or reliance on its published rates. Total liability shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
